This weekend I was determined to complete the kitchen project!!! The dish washer was the challenge this week....it's a little longer than the old one and it wouldn't fit all the way back into the cabinet - electrical duplex outlet box was in the way. It died...I removed it and installed a blank cover. Then the old one secured to the top - can't do that with quartz top :)   So, I had to rip a couple of 2 X 4 pieces to the side of the cabinet (same size as the opening) glued it and Mr. Nail Gun took care of the rest! Now, we're all done with installation and testing for leaks! We've used it twice so far.
Today, I got up early, went to the gym...came home, and sealed the grout on the backsplash. That's it for now. I put all the tools and supplies away for the next project.

So...continuing with our kitchen project...After our demo project with Jim &Vonnie, the boys from Flo Form came in on Monday and installed our new counter tops. Then Carol and I worked in the evenings and connected the plumbing and installed the back splash. We finished the caulking and grouting yesterday.

The reason we were working so hard to get done is because the appliances WERE  going to be delivered on Saturday. But, the weather changed on Friday and this is what we got...

So far, only 2 separate dumps of snow. We need the cold weather to break and the rain should wash all this stuff away. We need to eliminate the delays so we can finish this project !!! Carol sold most of the appliances (dish washer needed some serious work). And yesterday I fixed lunch...

The floor is finished and our kitchen project moves ahead...Jim & Vonnie Lash came over Saturday A.M. and helped us remove the kitchen sink, back splash, and counter tops.

So, we are so ready for Monday morning...new counter tops, new sink and faucet. Then back to work on installing back splash tile that matches the floor. Hope everyone has a Great Superbowl weekend!
