December has kinda flown by :) On Thursday Dec 5th Carol and I were getting ready to go to a small group Bible Study and my right knee started aching. I figured it was due to old age. The next morning it was really swollen. So I went to the doctor and he said probably bursitis - he took several x-rays and an MRI. Nothing broken or out of place - lots of tissue inflammation and it was traveling down my leg. Elevated leg and antibiotics for the next week. I didn't go back to work until DEC 17th. I'm on light duty for two weeks. The inflammation was cellulitis. It's still sore, but I'm trying to keep off of it as much as I can.

Last weekend we went to Canyonville, OR and heard Sammy Kershaw - GREAT concert !!!

Then we took Jim & Vonnie Lash to Lincoln City - shopping at the Christmas Shop (I think we're on a first name basis with all of the ladies there). On the way back home Jim said we really need to stop and watch the sunset:

I can't believe it's been so long since I updated my blog!!! Shame on ME! But, no real news 'cause we're working way too hard and not playing enough. Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Carol and Mom Peters. Turkey roast was the way to go...with all the trimmings. Add football, an early trip to the gym, and a quick trip to the beach - and the day is almost done. Here's a picture or two I took tonight:

love that Cannon Beach! At 4:30 PM it was 51 degrees with a slight S. wind. But, when the sun went down, it started getting cold fast. So we turned up the heater and came home...more football :) Hope everyone has a super weekend! More soon.

The SOLVE beach clean up was this weekend at Seaside, OR. We volunteer twice a year, since we go there fairly often. I covered about a mile and a half and picked up everything from gum wrappers to old rigging / rope that was so bad it had barnacles all over it. Lots of people showed up to help and on the way back up the beach we didn't find much at all.
When I got back home, I had to tackle the leaves in the front yard...tis the season :)
Just a couple of SHOUT OUTS to the family (1) congrats to Caleb for playing on the VARSITY FOOTBALL as a Freshman!!! (2) Congrats to Dana and Kelly, both are starting new jobs that they wanted! Way to go!
Our next outing is November 9th. We're going to Grande Ronde, OR for a concert - The HITMEN. These are the guys from the Four Seasons. You can see and hear them on Youtube. I'll update you soon. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll post more soon.

Not much news lately...just trying to keep up with the leaves and household chores. I did get a new 2013 Ford E250 for work. She got her first wash job today.

Seaside Beach clean-up was rescheduled for next weekend, so I'll try to add new pictures then.
Hope everyone is doing well. More to come, soon.

I finally learned how to grab photos from my phone. Here's Carol, Earl Klugh, and me at Jazz Alley.
His concert was great! The dinner and company (Jim & Vonnie Lash) was great too :)

More stuff soon.
As you can tell by the posting date, I haven't done a very good job of informing everyone of what's going on! But, really, very little to report. We took Mom Peters out for her birthday. And a couple days later, we took Carol out for hers. I won't give any ages because I value my life :)
Last weekend we took a little time off and went to Pelican Shores in Lincoln City, OR.

Our room had a small patio and we sat outside for quite a while. It was like a summer evening. After the sun went down we went to see "Gravity". That kept us on the edge of our seat. And we had to make a stop at the Christmas Shop! I love that place! We came home Sunday afternoon and I washed the bugs off the old van and got ready for Monday. More to come soon.

Wow, this summer really went fast! And the weekends are flying by! Last weekend we went to Seattle to see Earl Klugh. I have a couple of pictures in my phone. I'll add them soon. He was great...love the guitar easy-listening sounds. Jazz Alley always has good food and excellent entertainment.
This weekend I'm working on a project for Lee Morris. He brought over a Honda SL100 for me to work on. This is what it looked like last week when he dropped it off.

And as of right now...this is what it looks like...

So, we have a little work to do. I ordered the shop manual for it. And started troubleshooting, ordered a few basic parts (i.e. battery and ignition switch). I'll add more pictures as progress is made. Hope everyone is doing well - tomorrow is the first day of FALL :(

I promised a few more pictures from Lincoln City, so here goes...

Can't wait for next year!!! Guess I should make hotel reservations soon :)

Sunday, August 25, 2013

This was our get-a-way weekend, so we went to the coast and took in the car show at Lincoln City.
Thought I would share a few pictures...

The past two years we got rained on, as you can see...not this year! Lots of great classics, a live band, good weather, and the view below was at the end of the rows of cars.

Hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow starts a new week, I'll post more soon!

I'm playing the "catch up" game...sorry it's taken so long to update everyone! July seemed to fly by! We just returned from a quick visit to Cheyenne, WY. and Ft. Collins, CO. So, I thought I'd share a few pictures...

I spent Saturday washing and vacuuming vans at the house. I gave the Ford a quick check-over for Sunday's drive to the coast. Sunday we got up early and went to church, had lunch at McMinnville and travelled on to Lincoln City. After checking in, we went for a walk on the beach, before the rain started.

Then we went to the campground where Jim & Vonnie Lash were camping and had a great dinner with them (Jim BBQ'd). And played cards (it was still raining).
Monday we drove to Newport, OR and met up with Roberta, her Mom (Fran), Jacob, Peter, and Bethany. Close by, we visited the Hatfield Marine Science Center - very interesting! I think the kids really enjoyed touching the live sea animals in the "touch pool". We piled into the two vans and went to Izzy's for lunch. Great to see everyone! Peter and Jacob...thanks for the the "sea rocks".

Just wanted to add a few more pictures from the past weekend.

Sunday, June 16, 2013

What a great Father's Day weekend!!! Friday night, after work, Carol and I had a BBQ dinner at home and had a quiet evening at home. Saturday, I worked in the yard and Carol went to a graduation ceremony. We went downtown and saw "Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs" . Now, today was the Best... we picked up Mom Peters and had breakfast at Sheri's. Then we picked up the Van and headed for Grand Ronde for the "Show and Shine" car show.  Here's a few of the shots I took...

I'll add more this week...hope everyone enjoys these as much as I did taking them!

Saturday, June 8, 2013

I can't believe the time has gone by so fast! The past weekends have been filled with stuff around the house (without any side trips:( )  But, last weekend Mikayla, Madison, and Grace flew in to spend some time with their dad. We are fortunate enough to live fairly close to Eric...so we're taking advantage of that opportunity!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since we've seen the girls and they're growing up so fast!
I tore a small muscle in my lower back this week and had to take a few days off. Ofcourse, the weather was great...and I'm flat on my back. I went into work yesterday and I'm on light duty for at least a week. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll write more soon.

Saturday, May 4, 2013

After work today, we decided to have dinner at Mo's in Canon Beach...and we took Payton along. Fish & chips was a great choice! Then we grabbed our beach chairs and headed for the sand. We had to stay for the sunset... and it was worth it! I'll post more soon.

During our weekend get-a-way, our little van clicked over 100, 000 miles!!! And we got 17 miles to the gallon with 4 adults and all of our "stuff" (mostly cookies, candy, chips, cooler of pop and tea). Anyway, ole Betsy is hangin' in there...and I suppose we'll make a trip out to Ft. Collins, Cheyenne, Denver, and Boise at the end of July (beginning of Aug).
